The Trout season has started

On April first many of Iceland’s rivers and lakes opened for fishing after the winter.

Overall the fishing on the opening day was good. We were quite lucky with the weather as it was relatively mild by Icelandic standards. The day after the opening it started snowing and winter settled in again.  Of course that did not deter anglers from the water and they are still getting nice sea-trout in sub zero conditions.

Pictured is a nice sea-trout from the opening day.
