Spring is finally here in Iceland, the days are getting warmer and in only twenty days river Blanda will open.

Needless to say we are getting very excited and we are hoping for good numbers this summer. Last year the opening of Blanda set a record, with 99 salmon caught in just over two days on the four rods. In a normal year the opening slot in the river has given between 5 -30 salmon, so the record was truly smashed in 2016.

Last year we had very good mvs salmon runs but the grilse runs were poor. This year the overall prediction is for the reverse outcome, big grilse runs and medium mvs.

I firmly believe this year will better last year in total amount of caught salmon so there is a lot to look forward to.
