River Dee: Pictures & News from Lower Crathes

We got more news from Lower Crathes, this time its from last week when angler Lars Dam Nielsen was fishing. Here is his story…

“Just back from Lower Crathes after 3 wonderful days. Difficult conditions in this water level – but a wonderful place and wonderful  people. Saturday gave action for me with one landed and to very nice springers lost In the Bridge pool after heavey fight and Robert Harper in the water two times same day  getting very wet.”

The pictures are from the Bridge Pool…

“Its Robert Harper in small rubber boots getting the line free from the bottom in the Bridge Pool, he succeded, but the fish were lost 5 min later. No doubt it was a nice springer. After a quick recovery on the bank including a whisky to get back to strength, I hooked a new springer in the next cast. It was a smaller fish and also lost after 5-6 min fight. A small Red Frances Conehead from Vidar (Viddi) in Galleri Flugur in Reykjavik was the fly.  Two hours earlier Robert did go in the water in The Green Bank – but this time we landed a 7 pound springer.”
Fantastic report and many thanks to our friend Lars Dam Nielsen.
