Yesterday the river Dee in Scotland opened for salmon fishing. In our beat – The Lower Crathes Mr. Tunmore caught the first fish, a lovely 13lbs fish from the Bridge pool. Conditions were a bit rough because of heavy wind and fishing was only possible from the north bank because of wind direction.
Elsewhere in the river we heard of a few fish caught. In Cairnton and Middle Blackhall two fish were caught. One of them pictured with this article was a fine 16lbs springer and the other a 15 pounder.
Hopefully we will see healthy returns of salmon in to the Scottish rivers and good catch in the next weeks.
