Now we are less than a month from the opening of Beat 1 in river Blanda. We still have a few rods left for beat one this summer. Beat one is by far the best beat in the river and all fish that go to Svartá and the upper river have to pass through the narrow Dammur pool.

Beat one is one of my personal favorites as you have the chance of very large salmon and they can use the powerful river to their benefit. On the picture you can see Johann David with a fat 96 cm female with sea lice taken in June.

I can offer the following:

June 9-15. Great slot for the big ones, all fish will be MWS.

June 22-30. A mixture of mostly big ones with the grilse starting to show up as well.

July 10- 16th. Absolute prime time, expect world class fishing.

July 31st – August 5th. Great slot in the tail end of prime time.
