West Ranga – few dates available

West Ranga has continuously been one of Iceland’s top rivers. The 10 year average for the river is a whopping 7063 salmon per season.  The record for the river was in 2008 when 14.315 salmon were caught.  In 2016 – 9323 salmons were caught and in 2015 – 8803.

The river has a great variety of pools and is perfectly suited for fly fishing. In the river you will find one of the most beautiful pools in Iceland –“Ægissíðufoss” were you fish close to a stunning waterfall.  The river flows from spring fed sources in mount Hekla and is newer low in water. The water very seldom loses its clarity so fishing conditions are usually ideal throughout the season.

There is a new top class lodge built in 2015 and the food will be of top standard as usual.

We have a few rods available in absolute prime time when the weekly catches have been from 700-800 salmon in the past.
