Water please!

Long spells of dry weather and declining water levels have made fishing more challenging in the past week in Iceland.

It seems to be the same story all over, there is a healthy amount of salmon but due to low water it is extremely challenging to get them to take the fly. Anglers are using the smallest flies available and long leaders just to have any chance. We need rain, preferably soon.

Then there are rivers which are almost immune to dry spells such as the Rangas and Blanda. Fishing has been better in those rivers and especially in West Ranga which is still with 100 plus salmon per day.
