The West Ranga river opened this morning at 7am where anglers headed happy and hopeful to the river after a bonanza season so far in Iceland in other rivers. After only 3 hours we heard from one rod that had caught 24 salmon! There of 18 of those salmon were between 75-87cm long. After the first shift, we got the news that 87 salmon were landed on the West Ranga! It is absolutely amazing how the season is started in Iceland and to see how big the salmon are coming in from the sea. Photos attached are from this morning on the West Ranga with Henrik Andersen and Olaf Furre with a beautiful salmon.
