We have been crunching the numbers from East Ranga this summer and have discovered a very interesting fact.
In the summer of 2016 the river has given 2481 salmon but only just over 300 of them have been grilse, the rest all multiyear salmon! Over 2000 multiyear salmon have been caught in East Ranga this summer and some of them in the 20 pound range.
We are pretty sure few if no other river in Iceland has as high ratio of multi winter salmon than East Ranga. If you catch one in the river this summer there is an 87% chance it will be a hard fighting big salmon. That is just amazing statistic!
