Sog Asgard beat in 2019

The Sog river is Iceland’s largest fresh water river with gin clear water and beautiful large pools. The river has several beats but one of the best ones if not the best is the Asgard beat.

The Asgard is a three rod beat in the middle of the river and has plenty of water for the three rods. Last summer over 300 salmon were caught on the beat which is fly only and catch and release.

With the beat there comes a stunning self-catering lodge which was recently renovated to a very high standard. There are three twin rooms in the lodge plus one master suite. The lodge has a Jacuzzi overlooking the river and inside you will find a sauna.

The Asgard beat is only 40 minutes from Reykjavik or one hour twenty minutes from Keflavik airport.

We still have a few days up for grabs in 2019 in Sog Asgard.
