Beat four was the first beat to open in river Stora Laxa yesterday, the lower beats open on July 1st. Some may find it strange that the topmost beat opens first but the reason for that is that the early going salmon tends to go straight up.

Salmon had been seen long before the opening and indeed there was salmon when the anglers took their first casts. The opening day yielded 8 large well kept MWS and many were lost. With this article you will see a fine salmon from the beat caught yesterday.
