- The River
-
A new river in our Icelandic selection! This great river just became available to us and we are proud to present it to you. A clear water river in the West of Iceland, with a very charming self-catering lodge. It's a 5 - 6 rod river with a good number of multi-winter salmon, the fishable part of the river is around 13 kilometers long with 75 marked pools and several unmarked ones.
The season is shorter in Nordlingafljot than in most other rivers, from July 18th until September 31st - anglers should keep this in mind when studying the catch statistics. The river is divided up in the 3 beats and a free-zone (that is often very productive) and the surroundings are extremely beautiful and steeped in history.
Tho world's largest lava-tube cave is located on the bank of Nordlingafljot and in the community center of Husafell guests there is both a swimming pool and a golf course.
