Great start to the salmon season in Iceland

River Blanda and Norðurá opened this morning, and there was fish!

The first salmon was caught in Norðurá at 07:17 and shortly thereafter another one was caught, bot with sea lice. In all three salmon have been caught in Norðurá in the first two hours.

The first salmon in river Blanda was caught at 7:30 this morning at pool Breiðan South on a Willie Gunn. The salmon was measured 79cm and was a fresh beauty with sea lice. Fresh salmon were seen jumping in Breiðan pool so hopefully more will be caught today.

This is a great start to the season; we will bring you more news as they happen.
