The West Ranga river was doing fantastically last season producing amazing numbers and securing the river, by far, the first place on the list of most salmon caught this summer in Iceland. The river ended up with over 8.800 salmon for the season and with many big salmon as well for the season. The catches were quite even throughout the season which was very pleasant to see resulting in such a long prime time on the river. Especially as last summer was no “late bloomer” with the salmon arriving early to most rivers in Iceland and many rivers had unexpected prime time much earlier than usual, it was therefore pleasant to see the West Ranga keep its steady pace throughout the season with so many happy anglers returning.
