Fishing News from Iceland

Now there are almost two weeks since the first rivers opened in Iceland and the catch so far has been good. River Blanda and Norðurá were the first to open and for the first 8 days Blanda gave 52 salmon and Nordura 95.

The largest salmon so far is a 97cm 10kg male from Blanda, pictured with this article.

We just heard news of the opening in Haffjarðará, they caught over 20 salmon with the biggest one a nice 93 CM.

We also heard there was action in Norðurá this morning, a huge run came in an the anglers hooked in to 20 salmon in few hours in the pool Stekkur. Hopefully this is a sign of the start of a good grilse run.

We still have some excellent licenses available for the summer, for example in Blanda, East and West Ranga.
