The Leirvogsa river is special for many reasons. One of the biggest is its distance from Reykjavik capital, or only 15-25 minutes driving depending on traffic which gets you into the fascinating river making you feel alone with nature even though the reality of the capital is close by. The river has over 8 km of fishing water to cover which is quite a lot for the two rods but there are many diverse pools to choose from, even canyons with many small pockets perfect for the light tackle in search of salmon. The river is fly only.

Since the river is so nearby the capital it is a great opportunity for mixing Reykjavik and the quiet river life together as you can go out in the evening and explore Reykjaviks many restaurants.
