For many years, one of South America’s most exciting game fish was kept a secret. In the last few years, the Golden Dorado, or "river tiger" as it is affectionately called due to its impressive fighting spirit and jumping characteristics, has rocketed to the top of the hot fish list.
The Dorado is one of the greatest fighting game fish in the entire world. Argentina is a new frontier for fly anglers and unites deluxe accommodations, excellent native guides, fast access to diverse waters and a large population of Dorado.
The fishing is done on the Iberia Marshlands, one of the most fascinating wetlands in the world. 3,500,000 acres of unexplored and uninhabited marshland in the northeastern corner of Argentina, roughly 2.5 times bigger than the Florida Everglades.

The fishing here at Pira lodge is done on the Iberá Marshland, one of the most unique and fascinating wetlands in the world. Over 3 million acres of unexplored and uninhabited marshland in the northeastern corner of Argentina are the setting for some for the most exciting fishing you will ever do. The marsh is a waste fishing of crystal clear creeks, flowing rivers, shallows, and lakes – imagine an area over twice the size of the Florida Everglades. You will spend your days here in state-of-the-art Hell’s Bay flats skiffs exploring this enormous expanse with enthusiastic guides. Dorado are exceptionally plentiful here due to the astonishing clarity of the water, the fishing is unparalleled in excitement and beauty. Floating lines and traditional saltwater streamers as well as many of the lodges own deadly patterns are used to make tasty presentations to waking fish.

Weather
The Province of Corrientes borders Uruguay, and enjoys one of Argentina's subtropical climate patterns, with temperatures in the mid-80s early and late in the season.
Mosquitoes generally come out in the evenings and are not found in huge numbers. The use of protective clothing and mosquito repellent is advised. December and January are the hottest months, with temperatures up to 95 degrees. Towards the end of March the temperature cools down, ranging from 55 to 85 degrees, with mornings and evenings cool and comfortable.

How to get there
Transportation Logistics:
A two-hour private charter flight from Buenos Aries will take you to Pira Lodge, located in the Province of Corrientes in the northeastern corner of Argentina. Direct flights from Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago service Buenos Aries daily, from Europe you will have daily flights to Buenos Aries from London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid.
Fishing for the great fighters - Dorado's is a perfect combination with a trip to the Rio Grande. You can fish for either 3 days or a week at Pira lodge.
Pira Lodge was designed to provide its guests not only with a remarkable fishing experience, but also with tremendous comfort. There are only 5 rooms here so you will never feel crowded. Each air-conditioned room has two double beds, and large French doors that open to wide verandas with sprawling view.

Travel Itinerary
This is how you would be spending your week at PIRA
A two hour private charter flight from Buenos Aires will take you to PIRA lodge.
You are fishign 3 full days form monring to evening, staying in the lodge for 4 nights.
Day 1: Arrive in Buenos Aires (BA). Stay over night at a hotel
Day 2: Flight BA to Pira lodge. Private airstrip at the lodge.
Day 3-5: Fishing for Dorado
Day 6: Flight Pira lodge to BA. Stay over night at hotel.
Day 7: Flight back to the States or Europe, or another destination in Argentina.
