- Information

Los Laureles is located 70 kilometers north of Paraná city, in the province of Entre Ríos.
Surrounded by rivers and white sand beaches, Los Laureles is a fly fishing paradise. Its direct access to the Paraná river assures a remarkable experience for fishing the golden dorado, freshwater fish native to South America, renown for its fighting and unequalled jumping skills.
The comfortable and luxurious facilities of this five-star resort include six bedrooms equipped with air-conditioning and Jacuzzi. We also offer a spacious sitting-room with a fireplace, a bar, a dining-room with an adjoining grill area, and a swimming pool. The mainstay of the truly wonderful and original cuisine is the famous Argentine beef and the varieties of game exquisitely and uniquely prepared by our world-class chefs. The lodge takes pride in its own wines, produced and bottled in the company wineries located in the province of Mendoza.
Fishing the golden dorado-freshwater fish native to South America, renown for its fighting and unequalled jumping skills- is a remarkable experience.
The hunting and fishing areas which we select, are located to the north-west of Buenos Aires, in the provinces of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos, on the coast of the Paraná river, the largest of the Argentine rivers. Swamps, estuaries, lagoons, islands and rice cultivations make from these areas a real paradise for anatids found by hundreds throughout thousands of hectares.
Hunts will take place within a radio not further than 45 minutes from Los Laureles where our guests lodge. Our organisation provides skilled hunting and fishing guides, dogs trained both for duck and partridge hunting, and the appropriate vehicles and boats for transportation. It is worthwhile mentioning that since this area is next to the Paraná river, with all its ramifications, those who are fond of fishing will be able to practice this sport (Fly, Spinning & Traditional methods available).
We provide all the necessary equipment for traditional methods, including our own boats, for the fishing of dorados, surubíes, patíes, manduvíes, and several other species of the Paraná river.
The fishing lodge is strictly catch & release.

Useful inforamtion for anglers going to Los Laureles
Fishing the golden dorado-freshwater fish native to South America, renown for its fighting and unequalled jumping skills- is a remarkable experience.
In Los Laureles, we use fly rods and light spinning tackle to go after the golden dorado. Modern and efficient Carolina Skiff boats are utilized as they provide ideal platforms to cast from. The fishing lodge is strictly catch & release.
Lax-á line - fly fishing rods designed in Iceland
Lax-á is now starting a new line of rods that suit most of our fishing destinations. The rods reflect a good craftsmanship and high quality.
The rods have been tested on the icelandic rivers by experienced anglers, who give them their best recommendation. For Argentinean trout rivers we have two sizes of single hand rods. These first rods come in limited numbers so they will be a collecters item:
Lax-á 9´0" line 5/6 in 5 sections
Lax-á 9'6" line 7/8 in 5 sections
Lax-á double handed rods in sizes 14" and 12,6" are also available.

What documentation is needed?
Besides the passport, there are some extra documents needed in order to entry the country with firearms and ammunitions. Before traveling it is necessary to submit an application at the argentine consulate in the country of origin, requiring the "temporary authorization and temporary possess permit" of corresponding material during the stay in Argentina. This consular permit will be asked when arriving and leaving. We are able to accelerate the proceeding in Customs. For this, it is only needed to send by fax in advance the mentioned authorization.
What to bring?
In winter, from June to September, it is recommended to bring sweaters, gloves, short boots and waders, a good wind-breaking jacket, rain jacket and warm clothes. During summer, from December to March, clothes should be light. Don't forget to bring solar protection and mosquito repellent.
Other activities
Please bare in mind that we are willing and able to organise a 1st class tailor-made program, don't hesitate to ask for different possibilities.
Los Laureles will organise on request further programs around Argentina. It offers its guests the possibility to extend their stay, either for hunting and fishing or for conventional tourism, with the possibility of visiting the Iguazú Falls, Patagonia, Ushuaia, Glaciers (Argentina & Chile), Puna, and other of the many exclusive areas such as the unique wine area in the province of Mendoza where you will have the privilege of staying at our Posada Salentein in the surroundings of Bodegas Salentein, our winery, from where wine tasting tours are organised periodically.
