We are now taking bookings for 2011. We have so far planned 2 trips in the prime season 3-9th of February (5 days fishing, 6 nights) and 9-14th of February (4 days of fishing, 5 nights).
It is has long been well known that the West coast of Africa hold the largest tarpon in the world – in countries such as Angola, Gabon, Congo and Sierra Leone, but they have until now by and large only been caught on conventional tackle and a range of security and logistic factors have made access to fishing for them very difficult.
But this has changed and we have the last few years been able to offer you a rare opportunity to catch the Tarpon of a lifetime. This is hardcore fishing with long days of casting heavy lines in the sweltering sun, but you have a very big chance of breaking your previous record by catching a Tarpon in excess of 80 KG. All trips starts and ends in Luanda.
Send me a line if you want leave the Northern hemisphere winter when it is at its worst and join us for a very special adventure in sunny Angola.

07 September 2010 We just received news from Tungufljot but it is one of our Icelandic salmon river gems. This beautiful salmon river has good salmon runs every year. The current is strong in tungufljot so it is exelent for advanced anglers to try out. As those who follow the news of Icelandic fishing know we have had a very good year regardless of the dry season we had.

06 September 2010 I have waited nearly three years for an opportunity to fish once again on the waters where our great sport all began. And to do so on the wonderful River Dee is a real treat for sure. I fished here in 2008 in September and managed nine fish for the week. I would have been totally satisfied with one fish here so I really was pleased with what turned into a fabulous week. . And that included no Grilse and a couple over 15 pounds. And a lost beauty I know would have knocked the socks off the 20 pound mark had I handed it. But it was not to be. Maybe this trip. The water has been a bit low for past week or so but the fishing remains very good.

06 September 2010 I had been told by friends for many years that Blanda beat 4 is one of Icelands best kept secret in the salmon industry here in Iceland. All this time I said to them.. well, yea, ok, sounds good, humm, interesting!! But not anymore. I went there 3 days in early august with a friend from the UK, we had an amazing success, landed so many fish, average size of 8lbs and all in this 3 rod magical river. It´s a little bit challenging to fish this river, a lot of walk and climbing, not too hard though, and all worth it, so worth it. Blanda beat 4 is a crystal clear, 3 rod river offering over 40 pools and pockets to fish from, you can stay in our main lodge @ Blanda river, with full service, sauna, jacuzzy, everything you need is there. This is the perfect river to add to your fishing dates if you have plans to visit Iceland, you can simply even just do this river only if you like and...We also offer the oppurtunity to go self catering.. For all further bookings and details, contact..Axelo axelo@lax-a.is

07 September 2010 Here is a little summary of figures from our rivers this year. Like most people who follow the angling in Iceland we have had a great summer of fishing regardless of the dry season. But when the sun slowly begins to sit and the temperature decreases the rivers are full of life.More...

06 September 2010 After the hard rain from the hurricane there was a nice rise of about 2 inch in the river, when we started fishing this morning and through out the day, waterlevel was still rising, also the weather was changing, therefor most of the day was research on the pools. I must have made about 10.685 cast today with the dryfly

05 September 2010 All weather forecasts came true today, the heavy rain hit us this noon, uufff, it rained so hard, even my ribs went wet!! Good thing we had a good rest in the quiet lodge of Bonaventure river. But the rain did not affect the fishing @ all, quite the oppisite, we got 9 fish today, 2 over 20 pounds, all others over 10lbs and one grilse, so much fun. We had 4 rods today,

04 September 2010 It was a wonderful sound waking up to, this morning when the rain drops hit the roof top, after going to sleep in +30c, and thing not looking sexy for fishing the heat had dropped by 13c, giving us the anglers even more high hopes to what to be expected on the river today. The rain clearly whisked up some spirit to the pools, we saw tons of fish , landed 4 and lost some
